Buhari summons Pinnick to Aso Rock concerning Falcons unpaid allowances

Embattled president of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick has been summoned to the Nigerian Presidency following a protest march by the country’s women’s team, it has been revealed.

The NFF boss and top officials of the Glass House has been summoned after players of the Super Falcons held a protest march to the National Assembly premises on Wednesday morning, AfricanFootball.com reports.

Pinnick is currently under fire for the failure of his NFF to offset the monies owed the Falcons, and has also been receiving internal backlash from members of his executive committee after he decided to run for a seat on the CAF executive committee without recourse to them.

The Falcons have been pressing for their entitlements since they won the women’s AFCON two weekends ago in Cameroon.

And when they protested at the National Assembly earlier today, the chief of staff at the Presidency Abba Kyari addressed the team and promised they will be paid this week.

The Falcons led by skipper Rita Chikwelu displayed various placards to kick against the shabby treatment they have been subjected to by the NFF.

The Falcons have also embarked on a sit-in protest at the Abuja hotel since they won a record eighth women’s AFCON almost a fortnight ago. They have ‘ceased’ the trophy they won at the expense of hosts Cameroon, insisting they first be paid off.
