Don't Blame Rohr, Players For Nigeria's loss To South Africa - Aikhuomogbe

Despite Nigeria's 2-0 loss against South Africa in Saturday's 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, ex-international, Andrew Aikhuomogbe has thrown his weight behind Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr and the players.

The loss was the first under manager, Rohr since his 2016 even though the Super Eagles are presently placed third in Group E behind Libya and South Africa.

However, Aikhuomogbe who spoke with revealed that the result would only be a wake-up call for both the technical crew and the players ahead of their subsequent qualifying games later in the year.

"You can't really blame anyone for Nigeria's 2-0 loss to South Africa considering the fact that the South African team played a good football more than our team," Aikhuomogbe told

"Besides, this will be a wake-up call for the team before facing a team like Cameroon on August in a 2018 World Cup qualifier."
